The first picture is Babri Masjid, said to be built by Babur, a descendent of Genghis Khan.

The second shows the silk (red) and spice (routes) of medieval trade, at one end of which was China, most famously chronicled as being ruled by Kublai Khan, whom Marco Polo met, another descendent of Genghis.

The third, I am guessing, shows another Mongol ruler of China/Mongolia, possibly Genghis himself.

So, I am guessing the first quote is about the huns, who were descended from the mongols which would make the connect mongol emperors or descendents of Genghis..

Connect = The Mongol Empire?

On further thought a more apt connect would be just "Mongols" since 1. describes Mongol invaders and 4. Genghiz Khan was a Mongol.

2. Babri Masjid named after Babar a "Mughal" which is derived from "Mongol" and Babar was a descendant of Genghiz.
3. Is the Silk Route. My guess is that it gained prominence as a trade route during the Mongol era.

The Mongols?

The connect is Mongols (although Genghis Khan as the answer is also acceptable).

1) The quote describes the sudden and destructive nature of invasions by Mongol armies.

2) The first picture is that of Babri Masjid, apparently built by Babur, who is a descendent of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongol dynasty.

3) The second image is a map of the silk routes, which were brought back into prominence by the Mongols and fell back into disuse after them.

4) The fourth image is a Mongolian currency note showing Genghis Khan.

Congrats to Rahul, Nikhil, Ankur, Hari, Dev and Angelus for the correct answer.
