Jalianwala bagh massacre.

The last quotation might be Rabindranath Tagore, who gave up his knighthood because of the incident.

I think the event is the Jalianwala Bagh Massacre, in which case, the last speaker/writer must be Rabindranath Tagore.

On the 13th April, 1919, on the day of Baisakhi, more than 1000 people were massacred in Jallianwala Bagh. These are some of the reactions of the influential people of that time.

>> "Your action is correct. Lieutenant Governor approves."

Michael O'Dwyer, the LG of Punjab at that time. He was later assassinated by Udham singh.

>>“We have to make it absolutely clear, some way or other, that this is not the British way of doing business."

From Winston Churchill's speech in the British Parliament.

>> “It seemed absolutely immoral, indecent, to use public school language, it was height of bad form."

J.N. Nehru, angered by B.P.'s mild stand on the issue.

>> "The time has come when badges of honour make our shame glaring in the incongruous context of humiliation, and I for my part, wish to stand, shorn, of all special distinctions, by the side of those of my countrymen who, for their so called insignificance, are liable to suffer degradation not fit for human beings."

From R.N. Tagore's letter for relinquishment of knighthood.

Thanks all for playing !
