Streisand effect. Named after Barbara Streisand. It's when the celebrity etc. tries to censor something and it actually becomes more popular because of the media/internet publicity around the act of censoring.
Streisand effect
Forgot the explanation..
Its to do with an attempt to censorship, resulting in more publicity..
The Streisand effect... getting more publicity when the opposite was desired
No idea what X is, but the term is used when an entity tries to suppress the display of something it thinks is harmful to its interests, but the very act of trying to suppress it gives it greater publicity and leads to more people seeing it than if no attempt to suppress it were made.
Streisand Effect it is, named after Barbara Streisand, when she tried to sue a photographer for putting up aerial photos of her house as part of a public database, and the photograph got even more popular on the Internet as a result.
