Sidney Pontier? He seems to the guy in 3 and 2 might be one of his roles. Not sure how 1 connects, but the obvious guess would be that "To Sir with Love" is a song in the movie in 2.

Sidney Poitier or the man the movie "To Sir, with Love" is based on.

The connect is "To Sir with Love". Congrats to PS for the right answer and also to Nikhil and Angelus for getting there.

The song from Glee is actually a rendering of the delighful original in the movie "To Sir with Love", in which an Ex-RAF Engineer of West-Indian origin teaches high school in a difficult neighbourhood in London. The lead role was played by Poitier, who is the winner of the academy award for best actor in 1963 and "in recognition of his remarkable accomplishments as an artist and as a human being" in 2002.
