350 years of X- February 2nd

On 28 November 1660, a group of scientists including Robert Hooke formed a "College for the Promoting of Physico-Mathematical Experimental Learning", which would meet weekly to discuss science and run experiments. On 15 July 1662, a Charter was signed which created from the group, X. X is arguably the oldest of its kind in existence.

Identify the three pictures and connect them to X.

Is X=Patent? Or may be a scientific paper/publication.

The pictures seems like pictures in the patents for each of the ideas: Telescope, Unification of Electricity and Magnetism (Maxwell), and DNA molecule structure (Watson and Crick).

X = First ever Research Lab?

1,2,3 were works/inventions credited to the lab..

X is indeed the Royal Society, which was the first such group dedicated to experimentally based physical science.

The pictures are three of the most famous Royal Society publications- Newton's Reflector Telescope, Maxwell's Electromagnetic Unification and Watson and Crick's double helix for the DNA.

The Royal Society is celebrating its 350th anniversary this year and has this website chronicling some of its great achievements, a veritable history of Science- http://trailblazing.royalsociety.org/

Congrats to Srini and Varsha for answers. Thanks to Nikhil and Ankur for Playing :)
