Here are some of the common theories that explain this practice/standard.
  1. To commemorate Lincoln's assassination.
  2. To commemorate the first atomic bomb dropped during second World War.
  3. It is aesthetically pleasing/symmetrical.
None of the above theories have been confirmed. What is this practice/standard?

10:10 arrangement in clocks.

Good show Kiran and Hari. It is indeed the time 10:10 shown on the clocks when they are sold or in ads. In fact, Timex puts it exactly at 10:09:36, even on digital clocks.
