A good quiz question is one that gives you clues through which you can figure out the answer, even if you don't know the answer immediately. A trivia question is certainly NOT a good quiz question.

The Silk route
Silk Routes?
The silk routes between Asia, Europe and Africa
The ancient "Silk routes" or the trade routes between Asia and Europe. The red ones are the land ones, while the blue ones are the sea ones.
Silk Route...Samarkhand (northwest of India) is one of the junctions in the land route.
My guess is that the map depicts the routes (mythical and real) of Marco Polo's legendary journey across the steppes to China and down to south and south east asia.
Ancient Trade routes...like the Silk Route (the red one)?
Silk Route it is! Congrats to one and all. Good guess by Rahul, I went and checked the route taken by Marco Polo and it is strikingly similar though he didn't go to Africa at all.
