Is it to do with jackets worn by famous presidential/ prime ministeral candidates...

1. Is the president of Iran - Ahmadinejad (not sure why the jacket is notorious)
2. Is it the Sherwani? (made famous by Nehru)
3. Not sure whom that one belongs to.

Staple costumes worn by premiers of different countries ?
Ahmedinajad always wears his trademark collared shirt.
The second image is of a Nehru shirt.
No guesses for the third...why should anyone wear sherwani with pockets, that's just not done :-(

Something to do with the Nehru jacket?

The first picture shows Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his signature jacket, which he is reported to pick up from a Tehran bazaar for 20 dollars, and is notorious as a fashion faux pas!

The second is the Nehru Jacket, which was popularised by Nehru and emulated by many in the west and the third the Mao Suit, which for a long time was staple dress for Chinese officialdom and acquired such an aura in the west.

The connection I was looking for was costumes popularised by foreign leaders that became associated with them in the west. Congratulations to Ishani for the right answer (apart from the Sherwani with pockets!) and Ankur for getting very close!

Thanks all for trying :)
