This one was easy :)

Jinnah ..

wasn't sure about the 1st quote (#1) but

#2 = Jinnah House

#3 = Wadias (descendents of Jinnah) tried to claim the property .. They're the owners of Bombay Dyeing

BTW, whoever posts the questions, please Tag the post with your name

X is Md. Ali Jinnah
The first picture is the Jinnah house in Bombay and Bombay Dyeing owned by the Wadias are descendants of Jinnah. I think in the near past(?) they wanted to claim the house?

Do I get full points? :)

X is Jinnah

The fact that Hari has been reading Freedom at Midnight the last week helped me in my guess :)

X, I am guessing is Jinnah, the building probably his school/house or something. His dad worked for Bombay Dyeing :).

X is Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Did he own Bombay Dyeing at any point in time?
And that might be Jinnah's house.

Jinnah...

The 1st pic is the Jinnah house in Mumbai. Not sure how the 2nd pic connects, but my guess is that the Jinnah family was one of the founders of Bombay Dyeing?

X is Muhammad Ali Jinnah because Stanly Wolpert studied Indian history? Nusli Wadia is Jinnah's grandson - hence the bombay dyeing connect. I'm guessing the picture is Jinnah's house?

Jinnah.
-The Jinnah house in Mumbai.
-Bombay Dyeing is owned by the Wadias who possibly are direct descendents of Jinnah. The connection is the dispute regarding the Jinnah house in Mumbai between the Indian Govt and the Wadia family. No idea how this dispute was settled.

The timing of the question banished all doubts.

My guess is Jinnah for X. He seems to fit with the characterisation. I am guessing the first picture is some jail where he did time or perhaps his bombay house? The date 1879 might be Jinnah's birthday...

X is Mohammed Ali Jinnah - the founder of Pakistan.
I can connect him to the second picture as the present Chairman Nusli Wadia of Bombay Dyeing is grandson. No idea about the first pic - maybe the place where he was sworn in or delivered Pak's freedom speech, etc.

Everybody got the first part right :) Jinnah it is....

Pratik, Madhur, IC, Kiran and Tour de Fruit identified both the pics and the first three were right about the connect.
