Who won the ashes...

The breaks for the WWs, the late 19th century start and the brief spurt of blue among a sea of yellow lately suggests it has to do with the Ashes.

I am pretty sure yellow indicates years when the Aussies held by virtue of winning the last series and blue when the English did. White during the WWs indicate the years when the series was not played.

Since brown is always preceeded by yellow and violet by blue, I am guessing the brown are the years when Aussies held on to the Ashes by just drawing the last series and violet when the English did.

Good one!!

WW1 and 2 is different than the rest! Something to do with sport?

Maybe global warming. Yellows show increase in earth temp. Blues drop and I guess they were too busy to measure during the wars ;)

It is the Ashes... Yellow is when the Aussies held and Blue is when England did.
